Week 6

Week 6 already! This semester really feels like it is flying by! I think this week I actually worked more hours than any other week so far, but it definitely didn't feel that way. The week went by pretty quick for me because I always had something to do. I worked Welcome Desk three days this week, the Well-Being Series for anxiety on Tuesday, IM Flag Football on Wednesday, kicked off the French Film Festival on Thursday, and our first UCBA Open House of the year on Saturday. Balancing everything with class work this was a bit tricky, especially because I had a large project due on Thursday, but everything worked out in the end.
The event that I enjoyed most this week was the French Film Festival. This is the last year UCBA is doing it so I am glad I was able to help out Thursday night with the showing of the biopic Barbara (2017). Firing up the popcorn machine was definitely a learning experience. Who knew just how hot those machines get! I really enjoyed being able to listen to the discussion afterwards that took place. It was neat to hear everyone's thoughts about the movie and even getting to listen to a native French speaker talk about her own experience with growing up listening to the music of the main character from the film.
