Week 5
I had the absolute coolest experience this week. I was able to go up to Columbus on Wednesday with Dean Lightner and fellow Ambassador, Josh King, to talk to different state representatives and Senators all about how important regional campuses are and how much of a difference they can make on the student.

The day started off bright and early at 6:30 am when we left Cincinnati to drive up to Columbus. Once we arrived, all of the students from the different regional campuses in the state sat down to talk to about why we chose to attend a regional campus. Hearing everyone's different story and learning about their backgrounds was really cool. I loved being able to find the similarities in their own story and mine.

After that we headed to our different meetings. We met with Senator Bill Blessing, Senator Cecil Thomas, Representative Brigid Kelly, and Representative Catherine Ingram. We also were supposed to meet with Representative Bill Seitz, but he was stuck in a House Session.

It was overall just a really fantastic day. It was beyond amazing to be able to talk about my campus to our state leaders because I know that they don't often get a chance to see what is going on at the smaller regional campuses. I felt like they really listened to everything that Josh and I had to say and that our words definitely weren't falling on deaf ears. I'm really grateful for all of this opportunity and all of the other amazing things being an Ambassador here at UC Blue Ash has opened up for me.
